Welcome to Torquay College, thank you for taking the time to visit our web site. We are extremely proud of our wonderful facilities that have been developed through DEECD and parent partnerships. Our community has established a wonderful learning environment for all children and families.
Our motto “Living and Learning by the Sea” is reflected in every day classroom learning activities. The Environmental Centre promotes an awareness of our fragile coastal and provides students with knowledge and hands on access to creatures including reptiles, amphibians, insects and birds. The presentation and media room allows students to thrive in the visual and performing arts. There is always a band rehearsing or music echoing from the music centre.
We are a large school in a growing community, yet we have been able to maintain a neighbourhood feel. When you visit our school you will see our parents engaged in friendly interaction outside each learning community as they wait for their children at the end of the school day. Parent meetings in the school café are inviting and allow for the sharing of information and ideas.
Each learning community is led by a senior teacher and well qualified teachers with small class sizes. The academic standards are high and students are supported and extended to reach their educational potential.
Working parents are supported by a school managed OHSC program that operates from 7 am until 6.15 pm.
